Playa Paraiso is beautifully situated at the south end of the Mar Menor, the natural lagoon of shallow warm water separated from the Mediterranean by La Manga Strip. The small town has shops, banks, a pharmacy, a go-karting track and some local cafés and restaurants. It is close to the villages of Playa Honda and Cabo de Palos in this coastal area of unspoilt Spain. The San Javier Airport is just 20km away.

Playa Paraiso is right on the sandy beach which has some beach bars and watersports facilities. The Mar Menor is ideal for children and those wanting to learn watersports in the shallow calm waters which are crystal clear. The area has many sailing clubs and windsurfing, jet skiing, parasailing, diving and other watersports are also widely available. On the other side of the cape is the Mediterranean with some quiet sandy coves.

The prestigious La Manga Resort is just a couple of miles away and has excellent sports facilities which are open to the public. There are three championship golf courses, a tennis academy and a football school as well as a host of other amenities. There is also a wide choice of bars and restaurants offering local and international cuisine. The area has several more golf courses just a short drive from Playa Paraiso.

La Manga Strip is the place to head for bars and nightlife or enjoy dining outdoors along the harbour at Cabo de Palos where many small local restaurants serve excellent fresh fish, tapas and paella. Markets abound in the area and sell leather goods, pottery, handbags and fresh local produce.

Days out can be enjoyed to the historic port city of Cartagena which is just 20 minutes drive away. The Calblanque National Park nearby offers excellent walking, cycling, mountain climbing and nature spotting amidst impressive mountain scenery.
