Golf Courses

There are many golf courses in the region meeting the needs of all golfers. There are the "Premier League" of courses and clubs, such as La Manga Golf Club, Roda Golf and Hacienda del Alamo and others of PGA standard.

La Manga Golf Club is one of the finest clubs in Spain, there are three championship courses and is the haunt of many famous stars of film and television and sport. If you are looking for golf on a smaller style a 9 hole pitch and putt is located at the far end of the La Manga strip, Veneziola Golf

The Murcia area has more golf courses than you can "shake a club at". The courses offering varying levels of difficulty, but all offer an enjoyable experience with superb facilities.

Polaris World/Best Courses
The six Jack Nicklaus courses are located within a 25 minute radius at the Polaris World golfing resorts of El Valle, La Torre, Mar Menor, Hacienda Riquelme, Las Terrazas de la Torre and Condado de Alhama.

La Torre offers an 18 hole, Par 68 Nicklaus designed course built around three lakes. This course has four sets of tees, ensuring that this course can be played by moderate golfers with high handicaps whilst also challenging more experienced golfers.

Mar Menor started with a nine hole Dave Thomas Golf Course winding between the first phase of colourful villas. It was then extended to 18 holes in 2009, the second nine being Nicklaus design. The extension includes a large lake with stunning white sand bunkers leading down to the waters' edge.

Las Terrazas de la Torre Golf Course is a Par 72 Nicklaus designed course that is laden with palm trees and is based around a large central lake. Playing like a traditional British links course, the course is lightly bunkered and the greatest challenge comes from the undulating greens and the snaking fairways.

Condado de Alhama

   

   

Condado de Alhama is home to the first Nicklaus Signature course at Polaris World. Designed personally by Jack Nicklaus the course opened in early 2010. It is the largest on the Polaris World resorts and occupies its own space in the centre of the resort

The North Course is an undulating championship course between palm trees, lakes and "barrancas" (natural storm gullies) with greens built to USGA specification.
Originally designed by Robert Putman in 1971 and remodelled in 1992 by Arnold Palmer, the South Course was refurbished in 2004. It is located in the centre of the valley, with wide palm-fringed fairways and water hazards that come into play on 15 of the 18 holes.
Set amid serene pine woodlands, the undulating West Course' features narrow fairways, fast greens, blind shots and gullies.
La Manga has hosted numerous tournaments including the Ladies, Mens & Juniors Spanish Opens.

La Serena
Beautiful 18-hole mainly flat course where the main difficulties come from the prevailing Levante wind & from the water hazards which come into play in no less than 16 holes.  Yardage 6168-5884m. Par 6168-5884m. Par 72. Course designer Manuel Piñero - Founded 2006.
The course, which is not overly long, has a traditional structure. Accuracy off the tee is a must for the player, who must thread his way to the green amongst clusters of bunkers, desert areas and the aforementioned water hazards.  .
